Mobile Dog Grooming in Boca Raton, Inside Your Home

Angel Paws grooms Boca Raton dogs inside their own homes. Jill drives down from Delray Beach with all of her equipment, sets up in your kitchen, your bathroom or anywhere else in the home you’re comfortable with, and grooms every dog right there in your home, one at a time, with no van, no cage and no other dogs around. Full grooms start at $125 for small dogs. Every new client is interviewed by phone first, and Jill gives you a clear quote on that call.

In your home, not in a van

Most mobile groomers work out of a van parked in your driveway: your dog is walked out, groomed inside the van, and walked back in. Jill does it differently. She carries her equipment into your home and grooms your dog in the place it already feels safe.

That difference matters most for the dogs who shake at the sound of clippers, the ones who panic in tight spaces, and older dogs who struggle with steps and car rides. Your dog never leaves the house and doesn’t have to climb into anything.

Where your dog is groomed: big and double-coated dogs, like German Shepherds, Akitas and Huskies, are groomed outside in a well-shaded area or on the lanai. Small dogs are groomed strictly inside, never outside, because of the Florida humidity. Doodles are groomed strictly inside, whatever their size.

Angel Paws is working toward a custom-converted 12–14 ft grooming trailer, built to keep the same calm, in-home feel. Until it’s ready, every Boca Raton groom happens in your home, with the same equipment and the same unhurried pace.

What happens on grooming day

No drop-off and no pick-up. Here is how an in-home groom runs from the first call to the last swept-up tuft of fur.

  1. You call and tell Jill about your dog.Size, coat, when they were last groomed, the look you want, and any behavior or past-trauma concerns. Trauma-informed grooming is Jill’s focus, so the more she knows, the better. Every new client is interviewed on this call, and Jill quotes the price before anything is booked. There’s no online booking.
  2. Jill arrives at your Boca Raton home. Please leave room for her to pull in or back in as close to your door as possible, with no cars blocking the way and enough room to roll her equipment in (rolling it over grass damages the wheels). In a gated community, make sure she can get through the gate. She brings her own towels and all of her equipment, and sets up in the kitchen, a bathroom or anywhere else in the home you’re comfortable with.
  3. The groom goes at your dog’s pace.Bath, coat massage, drying, then a brush-out and comb-out, haircut, nails, teeth and ears, with a break whenever your dog needs one. If your dog needs a few minutes on the floor between the bath and the clippers, it gets them.
  4. She cleans up before she leaves. The fur gets cleared up and the room gets put back, so the only sign she was there is a clean, fluffy dog.

Dogs who do better at home

A lot of the dogs Jill sees came to her after a rough time somewhere else. These are the dogs in-home grooming suits best.

Anxious and rescue dogs

With a rescue whose past you don’t know, Jill goes slowly and lets the dog settle before any clipping starts. Extra time, quiet handling and breaks are part of every groom.

Senior and arthritic dogs

For older dogs, comfort comes before vanity. They get short stretches of standing, and if the dryer is too much, Jill grooms first, then bathes and dries them head to toe without it. There’s no car ride, no kennel and no wait in a holding area.

Doodles

Doodle coats mat quickly, especially when they stay damp after a beach or pool day, so most need a groom every 4 to 6 weeks. When a coat is too matted to brush out, Jill will say so before she starts and talk you through a shorter clip. Doodles are always groomed inside, whatever their size. Meet your groomer

Angel Paws is Jillian Anderson’s business, and she is its only groomer. She has groomed dogs on her own since high school, trained formally in 2013 and was licensed in 2014.

So when you book a Boca Raton groom, Jill is the person who comes to your door, every time. She gets to know each dog one-on-one, and if she spots a possible health or behavior concern during a groom, she’ll tell you.

Jill is first-aid certified and knows how to respond properly if a dog is ever nicked during a groom. Her specialty is trauma-informed grooming, and she keeps educating herself, including a lot of veterinary reading. She is not a licensed veterinarian, so anything she mentions about your dog’s health should be confirmed with your vet.

The name comes from the pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. More about Jill.

Boca Raton in-home grooming: your questions

Is in-home grooming the same as mobile grooming?

Close. A mobile groomer comes to you, and so does Jill. The difference is where the groom happens: inside your Boca Raton home instead of a van parked outside, so your dog never leaves the house.

How much does mobile dog grooming cost in Boca Raton?

$125 is the starting price for a full groom on a small dog. All dogs are quoted by phone, and the final price depends on the condition of the coat and how matted it is. Jill gives you the exact number on that call.

What do I need to have ready when Jill arrives?

Nothing. Jill brings her own towels and all of her equipment. She just needs a good place to bathe your dog and set up. The only thing the owner needs to do is sit and relax.

How long does an in-home groom take?

Jill can’t give a firm answer until she meets your dog, because every dog is different. As a general range, small dogs take 2 to 2½ hours, and medium, large and extra-large dogs take 3 to 4 hours, sometimes less.

My dog hates the dryer. Can you still groom him?

Yes. Jill preps and grooms first, then bathes and air-dries. If your dog is scared of the dryer, she uses desensitization to get them used to the noise again. If a dog is very traumatized or old, comfort comes before vanity: she does the full groom first, nails and everything, then bathes, brushes and combs out any knots, dries them head to toe and lets them shake off naturally.

Can you give a puppy its first groom?

Yes. Jill starts puppies at 11 weeks. The first groom is an introductory “mini groom”: a bath, drying, and a tidy of the face, feet and fanny. Nothing sharp goes near a puppy the first time, because it can frighten them. Once in a while a puppy is relaxed enough for more, and Jill will tell you if yours is.

Which parts of Boca Raton do you cover?

Mainly the parts of Boca Raton closest to Delray Beach. West Boca, East Boca, Highland Beach and Deerfield Beach are case by case, so call and tell Jill where you are and what your dog needs.

When can I call, and can I book online?

Call (561) 552-7418 Tuesday through Saturday, between 9:30am and 5:30pm. Jill can’t take calls outside those hours, because she needs her rest. There’s no online booking: every new client is interviewed by phone first. More ways to reach her are on the contact page.

How do I pay?

At the appointment. Cash, Zelle or a check (for established clients) are preferred. Cards and Venmo work too, with a standard added fee.
